About the Artist

Description

Why Wezel?  .........Just a nickname, seemed fun, and it stuck. Wezel is the alter ego of Kid Wezel and Shady Rosy. She is a Canadian singer/songwriter based in Toronto, Ontario.

History

Wezel works both with and against the other two (Kid Wezel and Shady Rosy She tries to avoid performing in public except for a few friendly jams, and would much prefer that someone else perform her material. She has been fortunate enough to run into some really talented professional musicians, who have been helping her out. Since joining AP, she has been fortunate enough to run into some wonderful and talented folk who have also helped out ....

Group Members

Currently, tony Laviola is the bass player and song-cowriter for Louise. Recording is being done at a "real" studio, DC Music in Etobicoke, with engineer producer Andrew Lauzon. Previously,Tim Johns (the lead guitar player for a Toronto group called the Meteors)  has done guitar arrangements for many of her demos. Tim also plays on many of the demos. and has been doing all the recording for her since 2003. We greatly appreciated all the work done by Tim Johns on tunes showcased here on AP. Tim has decided to move on with his life and is no longer involved with music production, rather concentrating on improving his own playing and moving into different musical circles. We wish tim all the best. In 2003, she hooked up with jazz bassist Alfred Gertler who has done some song arranging for her. Alfred is heard on various cuts. In 2004 she started working with bassist Michel Plourde, you can hear Michel on Siren Call. More recently she hooked up with bassist Tony Laviola. Tony has begun recording with Louise on their new country album, Shady Country Lanes. they laid down the first 4 tracks on December 4/06 Jazz pianist Ron Davis and Sax player Patricia Wheeler have also contributed to Wezel songs... You can hear Ron on Take it Easy and Patricia on Lay the Blame and Cry Cry Cry.. Nonie Crete is an exceptionally talented singer/songwriter who performs mainly Celtic and folk style. Nonie can be heard on the current upload of Mornings.
