About the Artists
Mostly influenced by the folk-rock scene of the 70’s, Pepper MaShay (born Jean McClain) was planning a career as a blues-rock singer/songwriter before visiting a European nightclub where she decided to turn to dance music. During the 80’s and 90’s, Pepper teamed up with prominent producers and artists to participate in successful records such as Michael Bolton’s “Time, Love, Tenderness”, Cher’s “Love Hurts,” Tina Turner’s “What’s Love Got To Do With It,” and Whitney Houston’s “My Love Is Your Love.”Pepper’s debut came in 1995 with the release of “Something to Feel,” followed by “Not Much Heaven,” “Happiness,” “Into You,” and “Right Back to Love.” In 2000 she scored with the smash “Dive In the Pool,” which became a chart-topping song in the dance/club scene, and received the Best Underground 12” award at the Winter Music Conference. A year later, “I Got My Pride” was released and topped the Billboard Dance Music Chart. The last three releases; “Signed, Sealed, and Delivered,” “Beauty Shop,” and “Send Me An Angel” have proven to be club favorites for Pepper. Her busy touring schedule has kept her on the road, and she maintains a good relationship with her fans.
On Psychedelic Records Pepper released “Beauty Shop,” which was used in the MGM Queen Latifah movie of the same name. In 2008, Psychedelic Records will release Pepper’s newest CD, “Pepper MaShay and the Electro Illusion.”
Electro Illusion was formed in 2001 with the members Brian Harris and Michael Wickstrom. Electro Illusion is a production duo and songwriting team that is heavily influenced with today’s current sounds and artists and such classic artists such as Pink Floyd. Electro Illusion actually did a cover version of Pink Floyd’s classic “Comfortably Numb” that was featured on Roger Waters’ website with his seal of approval. Electro Illusion will be releasing their follow up to “Project X” (that was released in 2006), called “Ancient River of Fate” and that is expected to be released in 2008.
