And we're about to slice you off a piece of that fabulousity pie. "Fashionista" tore up the runways this past season. Now, prepping for the next season, the big houses are looking for a remix of this glam track. And, just like they keep your threads fresh, they're looking for a fresh sound for the "Fashionista" Redux; "a sexy rock remix, to make the track even edgier. Hard house beats are out." That's straight from the Lords of Fashion.
Kevin Cahoon and Ghetto Cowboy serve up a heaping helping full of delicious swagger. Get out your big beats and make over "Fashionista." NOTE: in order to select a winning remix in time for L.A. Fashion Week, this contest only runs for three weeks.
About the Artist
Singer-songwriter Kevin Cahoon and his band Ghetto Cowboy deliver a unique brand of distorted, gritty rock and glam combined with pistol power performances and raw theatrics. Through their raucous live shows, the group has quickly become one of the most buzzed about new arrivals on New York City's downtown music scene.Kevin Cahoon & Ghetto Cowboy have chalked up a number of kudos since the release of their debut CD, DOLL, earlier this year including four nominations at the 2006 OutMusic Awards - walking away with the Outstanding Debut Recording-male award; The Onion (NY) and Pabst Blue Ribbon selected KC&GC as band of the week in their “Live and Local” Campaign; they've charted in the top 50 on Sirius Satellite Radio’s Mid-Year Music Survey; and “Fashionista” was featured on several runways during the last two Fashion Weeks in NYC.
Not just a luminary on rock n’ roll stages, Kevin has also blessed legions of fans with his rock-star performances in Hedwig & The Angry Inch, The Rocky Horror Show, The Who's Tommy, and the current B’way smash, The Wedding Singer.
Tips
At 12:00 a.m. midnight PST on Saturday, December 30, 1899, the contest will be closed and no further uploads will be accepted. If you are new to ACIDplanet, you should create an account and upload a song as soon as possible so that you can work out any problems with uploading that you may encounter. Also, uploading a song can take a considerable amount of time. It's better not to wait until the last few hours of the contest to start uploading your entry.
Entrants must upload a Windows Media format or Real Media format version of their entry first. You will not be able to upload any additional formats after the contest closes, so if also you want to upload an mp3 version, please allow enough time to upload them both before the contest closing time.
Entrants must provide accurate contact information (valid e-mail and postal address) in their registration at ACIDplanet.com for the purpose of contacting winners. You can update your contact information here.

What is the .acd file in the sample remix? The .acd file is an ACID project file that contains a sample remix made from eight to ten of the contest loops. It can help you learn how to use ACID, or give you ideas about remixing the track. You don't need to use it, but you'll at least want to download the sample remix so that you get the loops.
Can't open the ACID project file? The ACID project file (.acd file) is in ACID 5.0 format. It can be opened in ACID 5.0, but not in previous versions of ACID. If you using a previous version of ACID and you wish to view this file, you can either upgrade or download the current version ACID XPress in the Tools area of this page. However, you do not need to view the .acd file to enter the contest. You can simply use the loops in any version of ACID or in any other software.
