Always eager to break new PC-centric talent, ACIDplanet.com® presents Yakoozai. He’s offering his new track, “Horizon,” for remixing.

About the Artist

The young talent behind Yakoozai is none other than Joel Crowe. Crowe developed a love for music and knowledge of the computer at an early age. He spent his adolescence getting introduced to the underground dance scene in Washington D.C.

This competitive skateboarder began his musical journey back in 1997, following the likes of Dj Shadow and taking a stab at becoming a mix and scratch DJ. Two years later, he began producing but decided to put the world on hold until he was at his best. It’s almost ten years later, and his wait is finally over.

World class club-bomber Ferry Corsten debuted Yakoozai's latest, "Rondaview," over the summer on his weekly edition of Corsten's Countdown. Mike Shiver also spun the track on Captured Radio. The song continues to get plays by DJs like Lemon & Einar K.

Now currently residing in South Carolina, Yakoozai has been able to bring his 'sound'tastic artwork to life. Included in his work is a favorite deep and dirty harmonal track entitled "Falling," which has been featured on several compilations like 'Ministry of Electro House,','Worlds largest Club Collection Vol.2' and 'Bootleg Beats Vol.3.'

Yakoozia is certainly one DJ working his way up the future favorite ladder.

How To Enter

First, create your remix of "Horizon." If you don't already have ACID® software, download the free ACID XPRESS™ software. Next, download some of the loops. Using the ACID music creation software, paint the loops into your remix. When you're finished, return to this page and click the Upload My Entry button. Upload your track, and you've entered the contest.

Rules

• The contest begins Tuesday, October 13, 2009.
• All entries must be fully uploaded by 12:00 a.m. midnight PST on Tuesday, November 24, 2009.
• Entrants must be at least 13 years of age.
• Entrants must provide a Windows Media or Real Media version of their entry.
• Entrants must provide accurate contact information for the purpose of contacting winners.

Tips

At 12:00 a.m. midnight PST on Tuesday, November 24, 2009, the contest will be closed and no further uploads will be accepted. If you are new to ACIDplanet, you should create an account and upload a song as soon as possible so that you can work out any problems with uploading that you may encounter. Also, uploading a song can take a considerable amount of time. It's better not to wait until the last few hours of the contest to start uploading your entry.

Entrants must upload a Windows Media format or Real Media format version of their entry first. You will not be able to upload any additional formats after the contest closes, so if also you want to upload an mp3 version, please allow enough time to upload them both before the contest closing time.

Entrants must provide accurate contact information (valid e-mail and postal address) in their registration at ACIDplanet.com for the purpose of contacting winners. You can update your contact information here.

What is the .acd file in the sample remix? The .acd file is an ACID project file that contains a sample remix made from eight to ten of the contest loops. It can help you learn how to use ACID, or give you ideas about remixing the track. You don't need to use it, but you'll at least want to download the sample remix so that you get the loops.

Can't open the ACID project file? The ACID project file (.acd file) is in ACID 5.0 format. It can be opened in ACID 5.0, but not in previous versions of ACID. If you using a previous version of ACID and you wish to view this file, you can either upgrade or download the current version ACID XPress in the Tools area of this page. However, you do not need to view the .acd file to enter the contest. You can simply use the loops in any version of ACID or in any other software.
