About the Artist

When Pop Will Eat Itself reformed for a series of sold-out shows in January 2005, there were plans for a full reformation and the first PWEI album for a decade. It didn't work out, owing to band members other commitments - most notably Clint Mansell's relentless schedule as a film soundtrack composer.

Graham Crabb and Adam Mole of the band had already been working on material and didn't want to see it go to waste. Hence the birth of Vile Evils, adding Fuzz Townsend (also of PWEI) on drums.

In the ensuing sessions. the tunes metamorphised from 'cut & paste punk rock samples welded to slamming dance beats', to a more rock-oriented sound, and the band added extra personnel to complete a 5-man live band.

2006 saw Vile Evils playing live gigs around the U.K. Around this time, Crabb & Mole decided they had lost their original vision & longed to return to a more cutting-edge electronic sound....so 2007 saw the duo locked away in the studio reworking the tunes...to their immense satisfaction.

In January 2008, the first Vile Evils work to see the light of day was a collaboration with U.S. electronic act 3kStatic entitled 'Council Housed And Violent'.

This was swiftly followed by Vile Evils own rendition 'F**king & Fighting' released in late March to much anticipation, especially in the UK.

Two videos were cut & can be tracked down on YouTube. Future releases include collaborations with Colin Blunstone (The Zombies), Clint Mansell (soundtrack composer) and Mark Moore (S' Express).

Vile Evils will return to the live arena later in the year, around the time they release their debut album.

For the ACIDPlanet remix contest, Vile Evils are pleased to present their track 'No Fear' for your remixing enjoyment. Packed with a snappy hook, an infectiously chant-like vocal, massive breakdowns and some ultra-sinewy riffs, 'No Fear' presents Vile Evils at their rightful place - as heirs to the UK dance underground.
