Test Shot Starfish Remix Contest
Notes From The Band
We took the time to listen to every single entry and usually sat down once a week during the contest so we weren't overwhelmed at the end. Judging is not as easy as it might seem. At the risk of sounding cliche, there were definitely several great entries.
The "Test_Pilot_Mix" stood out to us as the winner due to the fact that it retained the integrity of the original track while bringing in its own style at the same time. Some remixes stray so far from the original that it's just a way for another artist to piggy back on the success of a certain track, and other remixes stick too close to the original to barely lend any originality from the remixers own talent. Test_Pilot_Mix did a great job of taking key elements of the track and building a somewhat epic adventure of the original.
We greatly appreciate everyone's efforts and hope that we cross paths when we tour next year.

Grand Prize Winner
Autopilot (Test Pilot Mix) by James Hoffman - listen
It's epic, fits well with the vibe of the song and album to be released, good build with creative editing and reworking of the original lead synths. It works well for ambient or for dance, and you can mix in and out with it.

About the Contest
ACIDplanet™…always bringing you the latest and greatest…and more.
LOTS more this time. We’ve hooked up with Test Shot Starfish not only for a remix contest, but a killer new loop library, Modular Electronica. TSS delivers incredibly forward-thinking IDM, electronica, and experimental music. Beyond progressive. Mind-blowing stuff.
If your psyche can handle it, here’s the TSS deal: they’ve offered up “Autopilot” from their forthcoming CD release. They’ve also included the “Autopilot” parts on Modular Electronica. The zexy part? Modular Electronica contains even more “Autopilot” parts – there’s a remix on the loop library! You don’t need the library for the remix contest – there’s plenty of good, juicy stuff right here, free for the taking. But if you truly want to dig deep into the TSS sound…we’re just saying.
If you’re a fence-straddling kind of guy, check out the promo on Modular Electronica. A little sweetener might help you take the plunge. Exclusively at ACIDplanet.
We’re kind of excited about this one. Exciting band. Exciting new loop library. Exciting prizes. Exciting times indeed.
Check out these incredible prizes from our incredible sponsors!!

About the Band
The experimental multimedia entity known as Test Shot Starfish was formed in 1999 by producers Kyle Schember and Ryan Stuit, both known for removing electronic music from its underground club environment and bringing performance art to outdoor arenas, gardens, and museums. Test Shot Starfish fuse together a myriad of styles and influences, including the Orb, Orbital, Plaid, Aphex Twin and Boards of Canada, resulting in an eclectic blend of electronica, techno and ambient music that inspires a sensory experience. Their most recent multimedia project, TerraByte 2.0, featured collaborations with architects, musicians, and visual artists at the Los Angeles County Arboretum and the Spitzer Science Center. For more information:
