This is the real deal, and entries will be judged by Elliot Scheiner (Beck, Faith Hill, Steely Dan, Fleetwood Mac, Aerosmith) and Greg Ladanyi (Jackson Browne, Don Henley, Toto, The Church, Fleetwood Mac, Warren Zevon, David Lindley), two legendary industry pros. If you pass these producers' tests, you'll be set up as a producer yourself, with a full range of top-notch professional gear. And you'll pick up your award at Remix Hotel, the event that brings together leading artists and music technology, in New York this June.
About the Band
The Terms formed in Baton Rouge, LA, where they are currently attending Louisiana State University. Their musical relationship found its spark when Ben Labat (vocals/guitar) met lead guitarist Clyde Hargrove and percussionist Blake Oliver. The acoustic trio played at local college bars and quickly gained popularity within the campus circle. Joined by fellow students, drummer Scott Lasseigne and bassist Greg Chiartano, The Terms as we know them today, emerged. The band developed a unique sound through driven back-beat, textured vocals, and haunting rock guitar, and soon began packing houses throughout the Baton Rouge and New Orleans thriving club scene. Their popularity attracted the attention of Maple Jam Records who with the help of Grammy Award winning producer Greg Ladanyi, (best know for his work with Jackson Browne, Don Henley, Toto, The Church, Fleetwood Mac, Warren Zevon and David Lindley), immediately signed the band.
After signing with Maple Jam Records, the band was immediately flown to Los Angeles to record their debut album (produced by Ladanyi) “Small Town Computer Crash,” at the legendary Capitol Records recording studios. The nostalgia is unmistakable as they recorded tracks in the same room as timeless greats including Frank Sinatra, and The Beatles, as well as contemporary artists Green Day, Everclear, and Oasis.
The Terms continue to perform live throughout the South, continually expanding their fan base, while still working to finish their college education. For tour dates or additional information you can visit their website at www.thetermsmusic.com.
Tips
At 12:00 a.m. midnight PST on Saturday, December 30, 1899, the contest will be closed and no further uploads will be accepted. If you are new to ACIDplanet, you should create an account and upload a song as soon as possible so that you can work out any problems with uploading that you may encounter. Also, uploading a song can take a considerable amount of time. It's better not to wait until the last few hours of the contest to start uploading your entry.
Entrants must upload a Windows Media format or Real Media format version of their entry first. You will not be able to upload any additional formats after the contest closes, so if also you want to upload an mp3 version, please allow enough time to upload them both before the contest closing time.

No Links? If you do not see the "zip" links to the contest loops, it may be because you are running firewall or security software with Ad Blocking turned on. If so, please temporarily turn it off and the links should appear.
What is the .acd file in the sample remix? The .acd file is an ACID project file that contains a sample remix made from eight to ten of the contest loops. It can help you learn how to use ACID, or give you ideas about remixing the track. You don't need to use it, but you'll at least want to download the sample remix so that you get the loops.
Can't open the ACID project file? The ACID project file (.acd file) is in ACID 5.0 format. It can be opened in ACID 5.0, but not in previous versions of ACID. If you using a previous version of ACID and you wish to view this file, you can either upgrade or download the current version ACID XPress in the Tools area of this page. However, you do not need to view the .acd file to enter the contest. You can simply use the loops in any version of ACID or in any other software.
