What Thomas Flowers says about Oleander: "One of the things that I've loved about Oleander over the years is that we've never taken ourselves so seriously that we thought we were worth so much that we could just shut down, that we'd arrived. Even to this day, we're still very humble and we're still very open-minded to all the learning that's out there."Here's an honest rock band not afraid to take their music in new directions. Or have you take their music there. Remix "Hands Off The Wheel."
About the Artist
Oleander is a straight-up rock outfit from Sacremento, California. Comprised of singer/guitarist Thomas Flowers, bassist Doug Eldridge, and drummer Scott Devours, the band has been playing and racking up hits for the past decade.Their 1996 release, Shrinking the Blob, spawned the hit "Down When I'm Loaded." Two years later they signed with Republic Records and began work on their major-label debut, February Son. The single "Why I'm Here" became the #1 track at rock radio, while February Son sold over half a million copies and spawned two more hits with "I Walk Alone" and "Stupid".
Riding on that success, Oleander toured with acts such as Candlebox, Collective Soul, Creed, Our Lady Peace, and Filter for eighteen months. Their time on the road resulted in the album Unwind.
Now signed to Sanctuary Records, Oleander's upcoming disk is entitled Joyride. Scheduled for release on March 4, 2003, "Hands Off The Wheel" is the lead single, and the track offered for remixing here on ACIDplanet. Hear it here first. Remix it here first.
