About the Contest

The music press says that "Crystal" shows that New Order hasn't lost its touch.

ACIDplanet is giving you the opportunity to get your hands on "Crystal." The guitar-influenced sound of the new album represents a progression for the band. How progressive do you think you can make their sound? New Order has a history of experimentation - they're open to anything. Perk up their ears with your remix.

The band will be reviewing submissions. So get the loops, and start exploring. Take chances. Because even after almost twenty years, New Order's sound keeps evolving. Your remix might be their next influence.

Make sure you check out neworderweb.com. The label may offer more samples and prizes on the site.<

About the Artist

Get Ready for the return of New Order.

Few bands have done as much to break electronica into the mainstream as New Order. From their hit-making inception as Joy Division, through the 80's and up to today, their bass, drum, and synth sound has remained distinctive and definitive. Creating genre-defining hits like "Perfect Kiss," "Bizarre Love Triangle," and "Blue Monday," New Order's music is know to anyone who's ever dabbled in any flavor of techno.

Get Ready is New Order's seventh album, their first studio album since 1993's Republic. With appearances from Billy Corgan and Primal Scream members Bobby Gillespie and Innes, the album is more guitar-driven than earlier New Order work. All the classic New Order sounds are intact, though - you'll find out when you remix "Crystal," the first single and international hit from Get Ready.

Get Ready will arrive stateside in October. You've heard "Crystal" on the radio or tv; the song broke on CNN as the bed for Headline News commercials, and can now be heard in American Express spots. Now, let the world hear your version of "Crystal" with this ACIDplanet remix contest.
