It's a DJ's dream come true! Warner Bros. is providing a complete Madonna vinyl package for each winner. That includes all Madonna's 12" releases over the last ten years! The singles, limited edition vinyl…it's all there. Plus copies of GHV2 on CD and dvd, posters, and other collectibles.To keep you spinning the hits, we'll set up each winner with a copy of ACID Pro 3.0 and a year's enrollment in the Loop Subscription Series.
Here's where you create new Madonna music with tracks from "Deeper and Deeper," "Music," and "Ray of Light."
You'll need two things: music creation software and "loops;" music samples that you manipulate to create new songs. We suggest using ACID™, our award-winning digital music creation tool for the PC. Nothing's easier or more powerful for making great music. Also, the loops for "Deeper and Deeper," "Music," and "Ray of Light" have all been optimized for use with ACID.
If you don't already own ACID, download the free XPress version of ACID. Just click on the TOOLS tab to download the ten-track version of ACID, ACID XPress. Then download some loops - as many as you need to get started. In ACID, simply click on the sound you want, and paint it into your mix. ACID's unique functionality has revolutionized music-making. More artists use ACID to explore musical boundaries than any other loop-based tool. It's simple, effective, and powerful.
Once you've finished your mix, return to this page and click the "Upload My Remix" button. Submit your track to the appropriate section and you've created new Madonna music for the world to hear.
SPECIAL NOTE: Please, no mega-mixes. Only create new music for each song; that is, if you're working with "Deeper and Deeper" loops, just use those loops, and upload your mix to the "Deeper and Deeper" tab. The same holds for "Ray of Light" and "Music." Don't mix and match vocals from different songs. Warner Bros. is looking for variations on specific themes, and will select a winner for each song.
Of course, you can create as many new versions of each song as you'd like. ACID makes music creation fast, simple, and enjoyable. Don't repress yourself. Express yourself musically with ACID.
About the Artist
Of the handful of artists that shaped popular culture over the last twenty years, none had as great an impact as Madonna.From the start, Madonna pushed an unwitting (and occasionally unwilling) public into confronting the new, the different, the shocking, experienced through her worldview. Even when dealing with topics fundamental to all of us (i.e. sex), she did so with her own particular imprint. In so doing, we realized we had more in common with Madonna than we first thought. This terrified some of us. And it thrilled the rest of us. Madonna was (is) able to speak to all of us.
Her body of work - the recordings, the concerts, the writings, the photographs, the appearances, the life-as-performance art - have revealed an artist, that, over time, has revealed more and more of herself. She's not only a performer, someone on a stage; she's someone we're intimate with.
The Madonna Remix gives you an additional opportunity to get close to Madonna, and push musical boundaries. We have provided the tools and materials you'll need to create new Madonna music using her vocal tracks from "Deeper and Deeper," "Music," and "Ray of Light." These straight-from-the-board a cappellas are Madonna's voice, pure and simple. She's not hiding behind anything. Using them and the musical fragments provided, you can take Madonna down new musical paths. Use the past to forge the future. Take what you know and create something new, something radical. Kind of like what Madonna's been doing for the past twenty years.
Tips
At 12:00 a.m. midnight PST on Saturday, December 30, 1899, the contest will be closed and no further uploads will be accepted. If you are new to ACIDplanet, you should create an account and upload a song as soon as possible so that you can work out any problems with uploading that you may encounter. Also, uploading a song can take a considerable amount of time. It's better not to wait until the last few hours of the contest to start uploading your entry.
Entrants must upload a Windows Media format or Real Media format version of their entry first. You will not be able to upload any additional formats after the contest closes, so if also you want to upload an mp3 version, please allow enough time to upload them both before the contest closing time.
Entrants must provide accurate contact information (valid e-mail and postal address) in their registration at ACIDplanet.com for the purpose of contacting winners. You can update your contact information here.

No Links? If you do not see the "zip" links to the contest loops, it may be because you are running firewall or security software with Ad Blocking turned on. If so, please temporarily turn it off and the links should appear.
What is the .acd file in the sample remix? The .acd file is an ACID project file that contains a sample remix made from eight to ten of the contest loops. It can help you learn how to use ACID, or give you ideas about remixing the track. You don't need to use it, but you'll at least want to download the sample remix so that you get the loops.
Can't open the ACID file? The ACID project file (.acd file) is in ACID 3.0 format. It can be opened in ACID 3.0, 4.0 or 5.0, but not in ACID 1.0 or 2.0. If you are an ACID 1.0 or 2.0 user and you wish to view this file, you can either upgrade or download the current version of ACID XPress in the Tools area of this page. However, you do not need to view the .acd file to enter the contest. You can simply use the contest loops in any version of ACID or other software.
