About the Contest

The ACIDplanet® world of music and Experimental Division Nashville team up again to bring you the latest in electronica - this time it's Jette-Ives on Ova Records, who had a recent hit with their cover of "Eleanor Rigby." This ACIDplanet contest offers "In the Presence of" for remixing, from their forthcoming album In the Deep, scheduled to drop January 2006.

About the Band

Jette-Ives is the bewitching provocateur of mesmeric jazz ingénue Jette Kelly and Holmes Ives, the multi-faceted composer/producer behind such recent hits as "8 Letters" (Shinichi) and "Eleanor Rigby" (Koch). Jette-Ives’ first album, In the Deep, is a heady, irresistible bedroom cocktail—seductive and confidently wanton, the album prowls its way into the hearts of everyone who has ever been in love with lust (or: in lust with love). In the Deep is the quintessential soundtrack to a midnight reflection on idolization and temptation.

Fans of bands such as Portishead, the Sneaker Pimps, and Massive Attack will be seduced by In the Deep's ingenuity--the music pays subtle tribute to the trip-hop greats that have preceded it, but Jette-Ives demands its own identity within the genre when it reveals the sexually curious "In the Presence of" with Jette-Ives' signature lusty, driving drum, bass, and vocal display; offers a fiercely heartbroken "Ultimately, Darling"; and weaves its own tempestuous dance of masochistic seduction in the tango-inspired "Proximity".

In the Deep will be released in January 2006, at which time it will be internationally available in stores. Meanwhile, Jette-Ives’ spin on "I Want You (She’s So Heavy)" is featured on Koch Records June 2005 Beatles ReGrooved album, while Jette-Ives’ rendition of "Eleanor Rigby" (also commissioned by Koch) is available on SonyConnect.com as an exclusive track.

Of course, this isn’t the first remix contest from Dustin Michael and the Experimental Division Nashville, and it most certainly won’t be the last.
