The ACIDplanet® world of music and Experimental Division Nashville team up again to bring you the latest in electronica - this time it's Jette-Ives on Ova Records, who had a recent hit with their cover of "Eleanor Rigby." This ACIDplanet contest offers "In the Presence of" for remixing, from their forthcoming album In the Deep, scheduled to drop January 2006.
About the Band
Jette-Ives is the bewitching provocateur of mesmeric jazz ingénue Jette Kelly and Holmes Ives, the multi-faceted composer/producer behind such recent hits as "8 Letters" (Shinichi) and "Eleanor Rigby" (Koch). Jette-Ives’ first album, In the Deep, is a heady, irresistible bedroom cocktail—seductive and confidently wanton, the album prowls its way into the hearts of everyone who has ever been in love with lust (or: in lust with love). In the Deep is the quintessential soundtrack to a midnight reflection on idolization and temptation.Fans of bands such as Portishead, the Sneaker Pimps, and Massive Attack will be seduced by In the Deep's ingenuity--the music pays subtle tribute to the trip-hop greats that have preceded it, but Jette-Ives demands its own identity within the genre when it reveals the sexually curious "In the Presence of" with Jette-Ives' signature lusty, driving drum, bass, and vocal display; offers a fiercely heartbroken "Ultimately, Darling"; and weaves its own tempestuous dance of masochistic seduction in the tango-inspired "Proximity".
In the Deep will be released in January 2006, at which time it will be internationally available in stores. Meanwhile, Jette-Ives’ spin on "I Want You (She’s So Heavy)" is featured on Koch Records June 2005 Beatles ReGrooved album, while Jette-Ives’ rendition of "Eleanor Rigby" (also commissioned by Koch) is available on SonyConnect.com as an exclusive track.
Of course, this isn’t the first remix contest from Dustin Michael and the Experimental Division Nashville, and it most certainly won’t be the last. Tips
At 12:00 a.m. midnight PST on Saturday, December 30, 1899, the contest will be closed and no further uploads will be accepted. If you are new to ACIDplanet, you should create an account and upload a song as soon as possible so that you can work out any problems with uploading that you may encounter. Also, uploading a song can take a considerable amount of time. It's better not to wait until the last few hours of the contest to start uploading your entry.
Entrants must upload a Windows Media format or Real Media format version of their entry first. You will not be able to upload any additional formats after the contest closes, so if also you want to upload an mp3 version, please allow enough time to upload them both before the contest closing time.

No Links? If you do not see the "zip" links to the contest loops, it may be because you are running firewall or security software with Ad Blocking turned on. If so, please temporarily turn it off and the links should appear.
What is the .acd file in the sample remix? The .acd file is an ACID project file that contains a sample remix made from eight to ten of the contest loops. It can help you learn how to use ACID, or give you ideas about remixing the track. You don't need to use it, but you'll at least want to download the sample remix so that you get the loops.
Can't open the ACID project file? The ACID project file (.acd file) is in ACID 5.0 format. It can be opened in ACID 5.0, but not in previous versions of ACID. If you using a previous version of ACID and you wish to view this file, you can either upgrade or download the current version ACID XPress in the Tools area of this page. However, you do not need to view the .acd file to enter the contest. You can simply use the loops in any version of ACID or in any other software.
