Illegal Substance 2 Song and Music Video Remix Contest
To all Contestants
We listened to everyones remix (at least 30 seconds or more) and really appreciate the hard work you put in. It's really tough to pick a winner with so many slammin tracks to choose from. There definitely are some people remixing on here who have some serious talent, and maybe a few that should keep their day jobs ;) All in all it was fun contest and I'm glad we put it together. Great job!

banana song [p.r. goes bananas] by Pastichio Rocker RMX - listen
This remix really grabbed my attention right after the beats kicked out and the swooooossssh dropped. I still can't get the beat out out of my head. I thought the vocal editing was a little sloppy. But we know how it goes! Would love to get a copy with the cleaned up vocals for our myspace. The guitar editing was sick as was the vocal breaks in the verses. I really feel Pastichio Rocker knows how to take a track, remix it, yet keep some of the original flavor. This guy obviously has a lot of talent!

Banana Song (RZ Remix) by Robert Zimmer - listen
A nice change from a lot of the club mixes. Just a smooth ride on the banana. Nice vocoder parts as well! I think I actually have this on my ipod. Dynamics of the mix were perfect, and the bass changes were a nice upgrade. Good sh*t!

Bananna (Vitamin A,Vitamin C, and Potassium) Remix by Muse-Sik - listen
Loved the abstract "Tribe Called Quest" feel. The beat changes kept it flowing and it was by far the most unique remix. I totally dug this on a personal level! Thanks for a bad ass unique mix.

Video Grand Prize Winner
WannaRide_McNRmX by Josh McCann - listen
The whole group watched this, and it won about 20 seconds in when the slip and slide part happened. Loved the song and the words on the screen fit the vibe quite well. This was hilarious!

About the Band
The Teen Beat rejects are back with a whole lot of fun, diversity, and energy on their latest release, “Bachelor Party.” This electro-fueled mash-up of eclectic tracks jets across genre borders like an ipod on random play.Illegal Substance combines fashion trends from early 80’s films like Roller Boogie and Revenge of the Nerds, with their musical influences (e.g. The Bloodhound Gang, Weezer, Black Eyed Peas, and the Chemical Brothers) into one big fondue pot.
With tracks as electrifying as “Speed 3000” and “Drop the Weight,” it is tough to believe that it’s the same band grooving on “Banana Song.” Stacking an arsenal of song concepts and musical diversity, the Phoenix based band has paved the way for what they call “the mix-tape generation.”
There are new rules in music, and the days of making 10 songs that sound the same are over. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Bachelor Party, and greeting you at the door is Illegal Substance.
