About the Artist

Eva’s musical progression moved through distinct phases:

Childhood: Eva was always known as a very quite, polite girl. She kept to herself and never acted out. She spent most of her time reading, dancing in front of her mirror, fearfully playing sports alongside girls with way too much aggression, and practicing the violin.

Teen: Still shy and reserved, but with the yearning to break free of the paralyzing fear she lived behind, she slowly found ways to express herself through clothing and dance. Little by little, she began to emerge from her shell. Unfortunately, her violin practicing took a turn for the worse at this time due to excessive laziness, and she failed to continue her studies.

Young Adult: After 3 years of being suppressed in a private catholic school environment, Eva set out for bigger and better things by dropping out of college, enraging her parents, and pursuing a life of what she calls a struggling ‘Creativist’ through various awkward stabs at the modeling and dance industry.

Now: At 22, Eva still lives such a life. Similar to a snowball hurtling down a snowy mountain, the creativity and influences which fuel her life have been consistently evolving and building over time. Most recently, Eva has chosen to focus on music, since it is the epicenter of her creative world. Oh and, she's totally not as shy anymore.

Eva writes: “I get off on experimenting, and writing, and creating, and collaborating. It is one big lifelong, creative-fueled process in which I don’t have any specific goals or answers besides the need to create and grow as an artist. Everyday is a great learning experience-Who knows what I will be creating a year from now, or who I will be working with? All I know is that this is a lifestyle and I relish in it. Don’t like what you hear or see? Come back in a little while, maybe you'll be surprised. =)”

How To Enter

First, create your remix of "Pulse." If you don't already have ACID® software, download the free ACID XPRESS™ software. Next, download some of the loops. Using the ACID music creation software, paint the loops into your remix. When you're finished, return to this page and click the Upload My Entry button. Upload your track, and you've entered the contest.

Rules

• The contest begins Wednesday, November 04, 2009.
• All entries must be fully uploaded by 12:00 a.m. midnight PST on Wednesday, December 16, 2009.
• Entrants must be at least 13 years of age.
• Entrants must provide a Windows Media or Real Media version of their entry.
• Entrants must provide accurate contact information for the purpose of contacting winners.

Tips

At 12:00 a.m. midnight PST on Wednesday, December 16, 2009, the contest will be closed and no further uploads will be accepted. If you are new to ACIDplanet, you should create an account and upload a song as soon as possible so that you can work out any problems with uploading that you may encounter. Also, uploading a song can take a considerable amount of time. It's better not to wait until the last few hours of the contest to start uploading your entry.

Entrants must upload a Windows Media format or Real Media format version of their entry first. You will not be able to upload any additional formats after the contest closes, so if also you want to upload an mp3 version, please allow enough time to upload them both before the contest closing time.

Entrants must provide accurate contact information (valid e-mail and postal address) in their registration at ACIDplanet.com for the purpose of contacting winners. You can update your contact information here.

No Links? If you do not see the "zip" links to the contest loops, it may be because you are running firewall or security software with Ad Blocking turned on. If so, please temporarily turn it off and the links should appear.

What is the .acd file in the sample remix? The .acd file is an ACID project file that contains a sample remix made from eight to ten of the contest loops. It can help you learn how to use ACID, or give you ideas about remixing the track. You don't need to use it, but you'll at least want to download the sample remix so that you get the loops.

Can't open the ACID project file? The ACID project file (.acd file) is in ACID 5.0 format. It can be opened in ACID 5.0, but not in previous versions of ACID. If you using a previous version of ACID and you wish to view this file, you can either upgrade or download the current version ACID XPress in the Tools area of this page. However, you do not need to view the .acd file to enter the contest. You can simply use the loops in any version of ACID or in any other software.
