About the Artist
Music has always been a part of the life of Andy Myers. From his first keyboard, to figuring out melodies on his Grandmothers’ piano, music was in his blood. Andy really began working on music during his junior year of high school. Upon graduation he enrolled at UMBC, and began his college career as a music major. After graduating, he had released his first cd, Stingray. A collection of electronica ranging from drum and bass to trance. (www.cdbaby.com/kennethadj). The album received positive feedback.Never satisfied however, Andy began working on his next album, Saint Elmo and the Osprey. (http://www.cdbaby.com/kennethadj2 ) Following a more upbeat and danceable style, the album has done well on cdbaby, itunes and others. You can view a review of the cd here. Saint Elmo also spawned a single for the track Snowfall. This album was the beginning of the signature sound of strings, breaks and deep bass.
Currently, Andy is working on a new album entitled, The Enemy Within. One of the songs for this upcoming project was already released onto iTunes as a single. With the collaborative efforts of Jason McGovern, Damage Control was created. Some of Acidplanet’s finest also provided remixes of the track. (Stephen M., Manoptic ) Also in the works is an EP, Monolithboy VS DJ Kenneth A.
Also an avid remixer, Andy has worked on projects for artists all across the globe. Collaborating and remixing with artists from Australia, The Netherlands, Germany, Norway, Japan and right at home in the US.
As a side project, Andy and his buddy Rich Sigwald, created the Orange Album Project. A mix of spoken word, pulsing beats, and some creative mixtures of synths and crazy ideas.
Out of all the things learned from these experiences, keeping things fresh is always important. Don’t be afraid to try new things musically. Without pushing the boundaries nothing moves forward.
