About the Contest

Singer/songwriter/musician extraordinaire Dawni is getting ready to drop her first CD this summer. She's looking for a remix to help fill it out, and came to ACIDplanet.com®. Put on your producers' caps for this one, because what you're getting are some straight-from-the-boards audio files; no nice and shiny mixed-down pro-produced loops for you to click, paint, and play your way to a remix. Even the reference track is a rough mix. You'll need to earn this one. Download the samples from "Feels So Good" and get mixing.

About the Artist

An incredible, rare and unique singer, songwriter and pianist, Dawni grew up without the modern day influences of television or radio, but her parents had a piano which set her creativity to a level of unparallelled self expression.

Dawni started learning to play piano at age 2 and was an accomplished pianist before she attended any conventional schools. Yet her sheltered upbringing only revealed great modern pop artists to her when she was a teenager. This lack of outside musical influence only further substantiated the development of her amazing ability to write songs that are created exclusively from within her heart.

Driven by the desire to have her own piano, Dawni joined the Army after High School where she was assigned to a special duty choir and traveled throughout South Korea. After her service, she moved to Nashville, where she has written dozens of scores for video and performed throughout the South and Southeast.

Dawni's creative talents go further into the development of comic satire and conceptual screenplays. Her musical writing techniques are conceptualized using these visual techniques; "My songs are revealed to me visually like a movie. The path to the completion of the song is not the story as much as it is the way I intend on telling it." These visual techniques have helped Dawni develop some of the most creative, enlightening and thought provoking masterpieces both musically and visually.

Through her travels and associations in Nashville, Dawni met Platinum Awarded Record Producer Todd Rubenstein, who is currently producing her upcoming CD. Todd has had several Grammy Nominations and has attained critical acclaim as a Billboard Top Ten Record Producer.

Dawni has dedicated her life and total focus solely to her music career. She is on a mission to make her music heard and she is determined to maintain a continuing success as a career artist.
