FELONi - I Can't Stop

December 2007

WINNER:
I Can't Stop (Roach Reconstruction) by DJ Roach (UK)
"The energy behind this mix is crazy! I'm feeling the Rock/Techno/Drum-n-Bass influence the artist used to create this mix. I tested the mix on club speakers, and it's an original banger!"
2nd: I Can’t Stop (electro mix) by L.Ecter
"This is definitely "Feloni" meets "Roger" and "Pink Floyd"! I can appreciate the kaleidoscopic mood the artist created."
3rd: FELONi LatinSaint Style by LatinSaint
"The artist wasn't afraid to take a chance on intermixing both our vocals to create a fresh, original mix from scratch."
"I want to personally thank all the remixers who came through and listened to my music with an open mind, which is key to becoming a great producer. There were a lot of good remixes. Unfortunately, I could not select all of you. There are some very talented and creative remixers here on Acidplanet whom I'm sure we'll be reading about in the near future. I wish you all the greatest success.

3rd: You Save Me (block mix) by Phillyc
"What a feast! Listening to the creativity of 35 citizens arranging my song was more fun than lounging in my bubble bath while eating a deep-fried chicken dinner with hushpuppies and no napkins! This potluck would not have been possible without dj adam77, CJ Shamrock, Wround Wrobin, Dark Day of Worship, TechnoBears, Terry Fry, Subcultur3 shakin' their cans and lettin' me sit in, DJ Peter T, DJ Roach, Denny Walker, M2M, terraman's golden collection, Canadian Studmuffin, Telemetry, sheephead, Fat Cat Stomp, Eddies Collabs and Contests, Patrick Palone, Hit The Groove, FilmFlamMan, Protokoll, Full Metal Jacket, Lthrboots, satriani disciple, Dead Pixels Asylum, Minable, Luis NoVo, PhillyC, and sleepybeats. Jim Ferrie - One on One

September 2007

WINNER
One on One(horn mix) by PhillyC
"This was the track that had the best production, stereo separation etc., and not only remained faithful to the feel of the original, but it was the only one which captured accurately the keychange going into the chorus. The horns sounded real and the replacement bass track was dead-on. Crisp and punchy, if anything, it made me sound better in the remix than on the original. Well done to the Artist!"
"Close but no cigars" goes to......"
2nd: kafboj - Here for you.
"A good track, well thought out, constructed and mixed. This came a very close second."
3rd: LOOPMIX - Living a lie (best to be true)
4th: DJ Peter T - One on One (12" Club mix)
5th: Acidmixerone - Til Death
"This last one, although really weird, really pushed the boundaries to create something very new and different and I respect that willingness to take a risk."

Finally, I'd like to thank all the contestants for their time and efforts in creating a mix out of something which I think must have presented each one with an unusual challenge. All of the entries were good. I've finally come to appreciate how skilled DJ's and Remixers have to be to pull it off.
All the best, Jim Ferrie: http://www.studiodawgs.com
