The winner will also receive Sound Forge 5.0; ACID 2.0; and five loop libraries of choice. Interscope is working up a tasty swag package – details weren’t available at press time, but you know it’ll be choice.

About the Contest

Here’s all you have to do. Download ACID XPress, the acd file, and the loops. If you already have a version of ACID, you won’t need XPress, but you’ll still need the loops. Load the acd file and check out our remix of “Request + Line.”

If you don't already have ACID, follow the links to download ACID XPress, the fully-functional eight-track version of this award-winning loop-based music composition and remix tool (wow! Is there anything it can't do?). Also download the loops and acd file. The acd file tells the program how to arrange the first loop pack. Load it, and hear our initial remix of "Shake Me." After that, it's up to you - rearrange the loops, download additional loops, cut, paste, paint and play your way to a killer remix.

About the Artist

Black Eyed Peas have been rocking stages, studios and campuses since 1992 when will.i.am and apl.de.ap first put their act together. After winning numerous competitions and a few line-up changes, taboo joined the band, and BEP locked down their current sound. BEP's music incorporates everything from hip-hop, jungle, and trip-hop. Their influences range from Portishead, Roni Size, Stereolab, De La Soul, Digable Planets, and A Tribe Called Quest.

Their second album, "Bridging the Gap," features songs written to rock the house. Each track ups the energy level, bringing a new level of intensity to the genre.

"Bridging the Gap" features an all-star lineup, including Esthero, DJ Premier, De la Soul, and Wyclef.

"Request + Line," ACIDplanet's featured remix, includes killer backing vocals from Macy Gray. The Black Eyed Peas and Macy go way back, and her participation takes "Request + Line" to a higher level.

BEP has been the cross-genre band to watch since their 1998 debut "Behind the Front." Their rep is even stronger with "Bridging the Gap." Enjoy.
