About the Artist
Ashley Altman, Red Skye Records’ newest R&B artist, was born in Hanau, Germany where her father was stationed in the United States military, and moved to Florida not long after. Now living in Southwest Florida, Ashley got her start in singing at an early age by performing with her parents and their band at local restaurants. She grew up listening to the sounds of Motown and was greatly influenced by the vocal styles of Mariah Carey and Christina Aguilera.Ashley is a self-assured and free thinking young artist, who, at 16 years old, wants to do her best to be a role model for other young adults, “I want to let kids know that it is okay to be yourself and you don't need to let other people influence how you feel about yourself. Everyone is important and what they have to say is important. We need to learn to respect other's feelings. Everyone has a right to make good choices without being ridiculed for standing up for what they think is right.”
When asked about her debut CD, Ashley says her songs are reflective of her own experiences and those of her friends. She is glad that her songs have a message for kids: “It’s important to have a positive role model that others can look up to.”

No Links? If you do not see the "zip" links to the contest loops, it may be because you are running firewall or security software with Ad Blocking turned on. If so, please temporarily turn it off and the links should appear.
What is the .acd file in the sample remix? The .acd file is an ACID project file that contains a sample remix made from eight to ten of the contest loops. It can help you learn how to use ACID, or give you ideas about remixing the track. You don't need to use it, but you'll at least want to download the sample remix so that you get the loops.
Can't open the ACID project file? The ACID project file (.acd file) is in ACID 5.0 format. It can be opened in ACID 5.0, but not in previous versions of ACID. If you using a previous version of ACID and you wish to view this file, you can either upgrade or download the current version ACID XPress in the Tools area of this page. However, you do not need to view the .acd file to enter the contest. You can simply use the loops in any version of ACID or in any other software.
