About the Artist

Ashley Altman, Red Skye Records’ newest R&B artist, was born in Hanau, Germany where her father was stationed in the United States military, and moved to Florida not long after. Now living in Southwest Florida, Ashley got her start in singing at an early age by performing with her parents and their band at local restaurants. She grew up listening to the sounds of Motown and was greatly influenced by the vocal styles of Mariah Carey and Christina Aguilera.

Ashley is a self-assured and free thinking young artist, who, at 16 years old, wants to do her best to be a role model for other young adults, “I want to let kids know that it is okay to be yourself and you don't need to let other people influence how you feel about yourself. Everyone is important and what they have to say is important. We need to learn to respect other's feelings. Everyone has a right to make good choices without being ridiculed for standing up for what they think is right.”

When asked about her debut CD, Ashley says her songs are reflective of her own experiences and those of her friends. She is glad that her songs have a message for kids: “It’s important to have a positive role model that others can look up to.”
