About the Artist
Two years ago, The Airborne Toxic Event formed in Los Angeles, a city with one of the strongest and most diverse music communities in the country right now. Without a manager, a PR company or a label, they immediately began receiving overwhelming critical and popular acclaim. Rolling Stone named them one of the Top 25 Bands on MySpace, and The LA Times, LA Weekly, NME and countless music blogs have written rave reviews about their energetic live shows. Earlier this year, their residency at Silver Lake’s renowned venue Spaceland was spread by word of mouth to the point where lines were wrapped around the block and every show was sold out.The Airborne Toxic Event's single, "Sometime Around Midnight" was featured on Indie 103.1's lcoal music show "Check One Two" where it gained the attention of many, including LA's legendary radio station KROQ. KROQ added it to their regular rotation, and it quickly became the most requested song on the station. This marks the first time KROQ has included an unsigned band on their playlist in over ten years.
