Download ACID XPress. ACID XPress is a digital eight-track recorder. By using ACID XPress, the loop pack of your choice, and your instrument, you'll be able to create a musical masterpiece in minutes.Download the loop pack of your choice. There are eight categories of loop packs (Rock Guitar, Jazz Bass, etc.), and each loop pack contains seven backing-tracks—a full backup band. Plug your instrument into your pc and record on the eighth track. You must use a loop pack to enter the genre sections of the contest. This provides a basis from which to judge the performance. Use ACID (or other Sonic Foundry applications) to edit the loops if you need. Don't need "digital session players"? Then just download ACID XPress and use all eight tracks to create a performance for the Virtuoso Guitar or Bass category. You can only use your instrument, however! Loop it, smack it, scratch it, run it through a bank of effects. Get as crazy as you need to be. But only use your axe. No bands, please.
Create your performance submission. Record your performance on the available eighth track (or on all eight tracks if a Virtuoso). Remaster the entire performance with ACID XPress: edit, remix, or delete backing tracks. Loop the best parts of your solo. Tweak the entire mix to create the track that best shows off your style!
After you've perfected your performance, do a SAVE AS to encode your file. Then come back to ACIDGuitar.com and upload your track. When you upload, make sure you select the genre for the category of backing tracks that you used.
