About the Artist
RUBIKON is an exciting new electro pop band from the UK. The duo brings together, Huw Williams and Tiff Lacey, for the first time. Both have already established strong electronica credentials, with chart-topping hits. The premiere album WONDERLAND is one of the electro pop scene’s all-time strongest debuts with one strong potential single track after another. Based out of Tiff Lacey’s sensual vocals, the production of each track is flirting with different electronic music styles creating a rare variation and depth. Tracks on WONDERLAND include ‘Why Keep On’ which is produced by Lance Thomas, renowned for producing Ladytron’s first album, ‘604’ now a seminal cult electro classic.
RUBIKON have a forthcoming tour in the pipeline, incorporating an explosive audio, visual and pyrotechnics show, so look out!
The debut single ADORE, released on Substream in 2007, hit the club scene hard with electro house remixes by David Amo & Julio Navas and Voltaxx. The single sold more than 2000 copies in the first two months, making it the strongest debut single in the history of the label. Thing Called Love – the second single was remixed by Morgan Page, a young, up-and-coming remixer who released his first #1 dance hit in August 2007. In the summer of 2007, the tech-house remix 12” WONDERBLAST EP was released on Pearldiver Records in Germany . The record shot to #1 at the distributor’s the first week and is now being played all over Europe.
Tiff Lacey developed her bewitching vocals and lyrics gigging rock, blues, folk and indie bands, around London’s club scene. But in 2002 she broke into Trance with Paul Oakenfold’s Hypnotised, which became the best-selling dance single in the US. Subsequently she has written and featured on a plethora of tunes for the likes of ATB, Matt Darey, Headstrong, and The Flash Brothers, seriously entrancing the Trance genre.
Tiff’s impressive discography includes both major film soundtracks and an extensive number of releases on
such top labels such as Ministry of Sound, Kontor Records, Ultra Records, Reprise Records, Nettwerk
Records, ZXY and Radikal as well as on the majors Sony/BMG, Warner, Universal, Virgin and EMI.
Huw Williams is an accomplished electro wizard whose recent success, Rookie ‘I’ll Do You’ is co-written and produced with Point 4 Records in London. Rookie signed to the label in May 2005. They have re-mixed under many different guises, including Dido, Faithless, Lemar and Dru Hill. This year, Rookie is sizzling in the US, out on San Francisco’s OM Records.
Huw is also one half of the electro-pop band Risqué, who after a number of successful gigs at important festivals and events in US, UK and all over southern Europe was picked up by Soft Cell’s label Some Bizarre in the UK for release
