About the Artist

Essentially, PSM is a one man band. Aside from an occasional collaboration with various singers and music enthusiasts there is only one person that creates the sounds that you hear when you put on the PSM in your mp3 player. The real name of the artist behind the band is Vasiliy Taranov. He is based out of Washington DC and records all of his music in a small home studio.

PSM music directions are all over the map. There are melancholic melodies, moody lyrics, bright beats and detuned guitars that together create a very distinct, almost dirty and gritty style that PSM is known for. The focus genre is mostly from a trip-hop or indie-pop styles with occasional mixes that reflect a very clear ‘pop’ direction. The biggest influence on their music was Portishead, which can be clearly identified in several tracks.

Currently PSM is working on their first CD that will be available sometime this summer and will include the tracks from the period of the past 3 years.
