Up for mixing this time around is a selection of samples from Big Yellow Hand’s industrial library titled ‘Sonic Doom’ featuring beastly bass riffs, nasty noises, sinister synths and other assorted filthy filtered folly. The best mixes will be released worldwide through the Experimental Division Nashville and shopped for film, television, and video game licensing deals - so take your time and don’t be afraid to get your hands dirty.
About the Band
“When we were kids, there was a tree in our town that had yellow leaves all the time, no matter what the season. It was shaped just like a hand coming out of the ground. My brother Rich and I thought it had some kind of divine powers. We were in our early teens when Rich decided to climb the Big Yellow Hand. Me and a few of our gang watched as he climbed all the way to the top. At over three stories high, I watched in horror as Rich lost his grip and began to fall. But instead of plummeting to earth like a stone, he merely tumbled from branch to branch, all the way to the ground like some form of human pinball where he was gently deposited in a three-foot-high shrub at the bottom of the tree. He promptly stood up and said "Wow, what a rush!" and tried it again. None of us thought that he would be as lucky the second time, but again, and in front of at least five other kids, Rich was lazily tossed from bough to bough, and again, deftly came to rest in the shrub. It became a meeting place for Rich and I and anyone else we wanted to hang out with after school or dinner. It just kind of stuck with me as a symbol of a higher power at work right in our own neighborhood.”Chicago’s own DIY punk/industrial icon Billy Pfrommer has been writing, producing and performing for over 30 years, and has amassed a catalogue of songs well into the thousands. Known widely as the producer and frontman behind the industrial techno-punk sounds of the Steaming Dookies, Pfrommer’s music is a staple feature for industrial broadcasts and nightclub deejays around the world – Just search Google.com for the Steaming Dookies and you can see first-hand just how far Billy Pfrommer’s music has journeyed.

At 12:00 a.m. midnight PST on Saturday, December 30, 1899, the contest will be closed and no further uploads will be accepted. If you are new to ACIDplanet, you should create an account and upload a song as soon as possible so that you can work out any problems with uploading that you may encounter. Also, uploading a song can take a considerable amount of time. It's better not to wait until the last few hours of the contest to start uploading your entry.
Entrants must upload a Windows Media format or Real Media format version of their entry first. You will not be able to upload any additional formats after the contest closes, so if also you want to upload an mp3 version, please allow enough time to upload them both before the contest closing time.
Entrants must provide accurate contact information (valid e-mail and postal address) in their registration at ACIDplanet.com for the purpose of contacting winners. You can update your contact information here.

No Links? If you do not see the "zip" links to the contest loops, it may be because you are running firewall or security software with Ad Blocking turned on. If so, please temporarily turn it off and the links should appear.
What is the .acd file in the sample remix? The .acd file is an ACID project file that contains a sample remix made from eight to ten of the contest loops. It can help you learn how to use ACID, or give you ideas about remixing the track. You don't need to use it, but you'll at least want to download the sample remix so that you get the loops.
Can't open the ACID project file? The ACID project file (.acd file) is in ACID 5.0 format. It can be opened in ACID 5.0, but not in previous versions of ACID. If you using a previous version of ACID and you wish to view this file, you can either upgrade or download the current version ACID XPress in the Tools area of this page. However, you do not need to view the .acd file to enter the contest. You can simply use the loops in any version of ACID or in any other software.
